In cases where the boathouse roof will have to be built directly in the view of the lake home this might be the best choice to minimize its impedance on the view of the water body. The second consideration is that this design is by far the most economical roof that can be built. It is also extremely strong as far as wind resistance, and allows the installation of an upper deck if required and will resist winds up to 125 mph or more. In over a dozen years Waterside Construction has never experienced a single case of metal roof damage. This is because we are extremely careful to use the proper installation methods and always use the edge trim required by the manufacturer. Unfortunately we are currently the only local boathouse contractor that does this. All others install the roof sheets only, leaving the edges open.
