Boardwalks : Park Boardwalks
Park Boardwalks

In the new millennium the environmental concerns of treated lumber have become a concern. In state, national and private parkland, and even in roadside parks where wetlands and waterways intersect with pathways and traffic spots, the support pilings on boardwalks have always been either creosote or the heavily arsenic based treatments. These days more environmentally friendly treatments can be used such as ACQ which has a much lower rate of chemical transfer and leaching into the surrounding environment. The chemicals that are passed are less toxic to wildlife and plants. The installation methods used can be more of a by-hand style if required in order to preserve the existing environment.

Getting Started

Waterside Construction and Design can provide a complete design package that will meet with US Army Corps of Engineers permitting standards and then go and install it so people can actually walk far out into the wetlands without causing any impact to this very special world.
