Boathouses : Multi-slip Boathouses
Multi-slip Boathouses Gone are the days when a boathouse is only a simple structure that holds your vessels so you will not have to continually drive down to and wait to launch your boats and personal watercraft at the public boat launch, then when the weather turns bad run for the public or neighborhood boat ramp again to quickly take it out before it gets damaged or someone gets hurt.

The new boathouse is an extension of your lake property, even if you only own just the tiniest little piece of lake or waterside heaven.  Working with and under the Trinity River Authority, San Jacinto River Authority, United States Army Corps Of Engineers, or any of the other local, state or national authorities that handle permitting on Texas' waters, we can design, permit and install just about any style of legal boathouse one can imagine.

We have in-house marine designers with literally decades of experience.  This statement does not mean everyone's experience added together, we actually have a design team that has designers in it that have been designing residential and commercial marine, structural, piping, and heavy industrial projects since the 70s.  We do all of our design in-house and work with an engineering firm if drawings need to be stamped with an engineering seal. You will never get a hand-drawing on a piece of graph paper from our design department.

Our boathouses are at the absolute top of the scale as far as structural design and strength, thickness of timbers used, and architectural appearance.  When it comes to installing them, we start with a pile-driver with a 1,000# hammer to install all of our boathouse pilings.  This ensures the maximum depth possible which gives you the ultimate resistance possible to support the heavy vessels, boat lifts, jetski lifts, double PWC lifts, and of course all of the other multitude of various amenities that are available from us.

The level of options available on our mid-level and upper-end boathouses is almost endless.  Waterside Construction & Design’s boathouses can be installed with many types of decking, which can troublesome in the Texas sun, so some considerations should be considered in order to deal with this often times highly destructive situation.  Upper and lower decks can be covered with composite decking such as Trex, Timber Tech, Deck Lock, and good old treated Southern Pine.

Boathouses can be built with metal or shingle roofs, but we highly suggest the use of 26 gauge steel roofing on all of them in order to achieve the maximum durability and wind resistance which can be built to them, which can resist well over 125 miles per hour storm winds.  We offer Mueller Inc. Metal Roofing Products, and we routinely install metal roofing from Lehman's Pipe & Steel as well in order to offer more of a selection and pricing option.

Waterside Boathouses can be built to the absolute upper end of the build level and amenity scale.  We routinely install such options as full kitchens with built-in cook tops and appliances from suppliers such as Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Viking, Thermadore, Weber, Kalamazoo, Samsung, Fuego, and numerous others.

Our storage rooms, counter and cabinet bases are custom field-installed and built purposely linked to offer maximum resilience against storm and wave activity. They can be covered with lap & gap southern pine and James Hardie Building Products to offer a highly proven maximum resistance to the harsh East Texas environment. We also offer log cabin style boathouse designs to match your log home!

Storage rooms will often contain special built in items that can range from simple treated lumber shelves to semi-exotic equipment such as composting and waste-burning toilets by suppliers such as Sun-Mar, BioLet, Envirolet, Nature's Head, among others.  This set-up is the only way one can legally install a toilet over any water body.  It is also the "Green Way" to build and people should consider them any time they build in the wilderness or in rural situations where only one toilet is required. Potable water will be piped from your lake house and if a hot water shower and sink is desired both tank and heat exchanger style water heaters can be installed.

The Waterside Boathouse often will have nicely apportioned tile or stainless steel countertop on its wet bars and entertainment bars.  We install full entertainment cabinets which can often feature stereo systems and surround sound systems linked to a flat screen television setup, which is usually built into the storage room walls behind the wet bar or up in the ceiling of the boathouse roof for security.

When the customer comes to use their boathouse entertainment system, they can pull a hidden lever, push a hidden button, or simply open up a secure cabinet to reveal up to a 65" flat screen television hooked up to a full DVD/CD/USB friendly power amplifier system which they can simply plug their Ipod or cell phone into to play their favorite artist or movies.  We do it all including multi-camera security systems which double duty for watching the sunset from your boathouse while working late at the office or from home on those days when you just cannot afford the time to drive to the lake.

It may not sound like it, but this is really the "Green Way" to build because it lowers the time people use their fossil fuel burning vessels, but still allows the family a much longer time out on the lake without being crowded into a small area sitting side by side cruising around using high cost fuels and leaving that footprint on the planet.  The boathouse will always be a much more comfortable place to entertain and just hang around on then any deck behind the house or yard facility where you are sheltered from the sometimes almost non-existent breeze, especially when Texas hits highs near or above those 100 degree summer temperatures that come every single year.

There is always a breeze out on the lake under a big roof. Turning that air conditioner down or off is also the best way to protect the planet – while enjoying the best part of it – the water.

We build our boathouses as an extension of your living area, which actually can greatly enlarge your lake property and extend it out over the cooler lake environment.  It always catches potential customers off guard when they find out that for almost the same money as an outdoor patio and kitchen on land, they can have the same much more comfortable facility - out on the water!
